Welcome to 'Titanic: The Musical'

We are delighted to welcome you to The Avenue Arts Centre for The Avenue Arts Academy Senior Summer Production, 'Titanic: The Musical'.

A message from our Artistic Director

May I take this opportunity to welcome you to the Avenue Arts Academy and our Junior Academy production of Seussical Jr. In the short time that I have been Artistic Director at The Avenue Arts Academy I am constantly impressed by the professionalism and commitment of our students. Their focus in their weekly classes and their constant desire to improve is exemplary.

However, perhaps more importantly, I have been overwhelmed by the happy atmosphere which pervades the building. There is a wonderful rapport between students and staff and also the caring support given by the older students to our younger members. Whilst the staff feel it is incumbent on them to develop the skill set of our pupils in all three disciplines of performance, we feel it is ever more important to use these as an aid to create rounded, confident young people as a preparation for adulthood. Naturally we are thrilled when, as is the case in this in this and other years, students who have come through the ranks go off to theatre school to pursue a career in and we wish those who are leaving to do so, this year every success. However we also rejoice in the fact that those who are leaving to follow other careers do so with added confidence, self-assurance and improved interpersonal skills having had this theatrical training.

I must pay a huge thanks to the Academy staff who, on a weekly basis, demonstrate a skill set and level of professionalism which is second to none ensuring the students get the highest level of teaching in a caring, nurturing atmosphere. Of course, we would also take this opportunity to thank our audiences for supporting our performances as this makes so much more worthwhile for our students. A very special thanks must also go to the parents who encourage the staff and support in all we do for their children by ferrying them back and forth on a weekly basis.

Finally, it just remains for me to say sit back, relax and welcome to the crazy, wonderful world, of Seussical.
